Who?

I grew up in Montana with a love for people and a drive to make a positive difference in the world around me. One of my earliest memories in the kitchen is sitting and chatting with my mom as she prepared meals for the week my siblings and myself. Sunday night family dinners were a way for everyone to connect and share about their lives over a meal.

After graduating high school, I moved to California and fell in love with Monterey, the abundance of amazing coastal ingredients, and my husband Ian.  My curiosity and passion for other cultures and people took me to Santa Barbara where I studied Anthropology. While in college at UCSB, I often found myself baking or cooking in my free time as a way to decompress from busy school days.

Upon graduating college and taking time to consider my options and what I wanted for the future, I decided to follow a longtime dream and attend culinary school. I attended Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland and fell even more in love with cooking and food.  Living in both Santa Barbara and Portland made me realize that Monterey truly is home and where I wanted to settle.

After graduating culinary school, I moved back to the beautiful Monterey Bay to begin my career working in the kitchen and playing with food and flavors.  I love people, culture and food and I care about fresh, nutritious ingredients when I cook.

I now spend my time focused on cooking for small events, spending time with my husband and son, and getting to the beach as often as possible.
